I know we usually make folk. And I know this is quite rocky. But it felt really good. And it felt really fun. And we had a great time making it. So I wanted to share it with you all.
I wrote the first version of this song with my band in our college dining hall basement and it has followed me from basement shows with five people in my hometown of Taipei to theaters of two thousand in New Jersey. It’s about when heartbreak feels like a splinter.

Angela
[Verse]
I toss and turn at seven thirty
I had that same damn dream again
We drove back to that wooden cabin
Moved in to make amends
there’s no wood inside the cabinet
we bring some in and start a fire
how’ve you been how ya doing lately
your hands against my thigh
[Pre-Chorus]
…I know I shouldn’t miss you…
[Chorus]
Angela, I got you on my mind
Angela, I’m not doing fine without you, dear
[Verse]
remember driving home from Brooklyn
you stuck your head out the window then
I saw a tunnel round the corner and tried to pull you in
you shook me off and leaned out further
then hopped back in with an inch to spare
I’m on a knife edge dancing screaming you’re skipping without a care
[Chorus]
Angela, I got you on my mind
Angela, I’m not doing fine without you, dear
[Bridge]
I just want to make out with a stranger, lose my mind and kiss until my face hurts
[Chorus]
Angela, I got you on my mind
Angela, I’m not doing fine without you, dear
